Colors for this page
A cat sleeps curled on the wide seat of a rounded reading chair, with one foreleg hanging over the cushion. The simple furniture silhouette keeps attention on the relaxed pose.
- Cat cream
- Chair sage
- Cushion blue
A suggested palette; it does not have to match the example exactly.
- Color the curled cat cream, leaving the face and paws lighter.
- Fill the chair back, arms, and lower body with muted sage.
- Use blue on the seat cushion so the sleeping shape stays distinct.
A simpler way to color
Skip shading and use cream for the cat, sage for the chair, and blue for the cushion.
Level of detail: The chair and sleeping cat form a few broad shapes with no background detail.
Talk about it: What book would you leave nearby for a quiet afternoon in this chair?
