Choosing colors and getting started
Start with three colors you like. An example is an idea, not the correct answer.
- Choose one main color for the flower, cat or fruit that catches your eye.
- Add one or two colors for leaves or a basket. White areas can stay white.
- Use light pressure first. Add a second layer only where you want more color; shading and fur details are optional.
The diagram explains choosing a palette; it is not a recording of coloring on paper.
Use the supplies you have
Plain paper and colored pencils are enough to start. Test markers in a margin with a spare sheet underneath. Choose a comfortable grip and a point that suits the areas you want to color.
